::THE SARACEN::

The term "Saracen" comes from Greek Σαρακηνός, which has often been thought to be derived from the Arabic word شرقيين (sharqiyyin, meaning "easterners"), though the Oxford English Dictionary (s.v.) calls etymologies from this "not well founded". The term spread into Western Europe through the Byzantines and Crusaders. After the rise of Islam, and especially at the time of the Crusades, its usage was extended to refer to all Muslims, including non-Arab Muslims, particularly those in Sicily and southern Italy.

In Christian writing, the name meant "those empty of Sarah" or "not from Sarah," as Arabs were, in Biblical genealogies, descended from Hagar's son Ishmael and also called the Hagarenes (Ἀγαρηνοί) or Ishmaelites. According to the Arthurian Lancelot-Grail Cycle, the name derives from Sarras, an island important in the quest for the Holy Grail.


::THE SCIMITAR::

However soldiers were fearsome and great swordsman. Using this kind of sword which was by a lot of nations in time passing. The sword got the name Scimitar.

Varieties include the Arabian saif, the Persian shamshir, the Turkish kilij, the Indian tulwar, the Moroccan nimcha, and the Afghan pulwar.

The kilij is a scimitar sword used by the Turks and the Ottoman Empire, and is appeared around the 15th century. The kilij is a unique kind of scimitar that has a slight taper down the straight of the blade until the last third of the sword, when it angles sharply and becomes deeper. After the First Barbary War, a bejeweled kilij was presented to the marine officer in charge, which has become a tradition in the Marine Corp. The Indian tulwar is a nearly identical blade to the shamshir, with the exception of a broader blade. The word tulwar literally means “sword” in Hindi.

The Moroccan nimcha is a scimitar sword used in the late 18th century, and is usually forged using the blades of older swords, dating from as early as the 17th century, and with blades from countries as distant as Germany. This created a wide variety of nimcha, and almost no two are the same. The Afghan pulwar is similar in blade design to the tulwar, but the cross guard on the pulwar angles in towards the blade to catch swords. Many pulwar hilts are engraved with ornamental inscriptions and designs.

Basicaly this sword can be used with any SL nation, avatar or legend!


==INSTRUCTIONS==

The weapon works with the following combat meters:

DCS / DCS2 / CCS / XRPS (EARLIER WARPS) / BLC / BCS* / GM* / GLM* (*read instructions)

It took us some time until we created all the animations, sounds and the amazingly lite combo script running the whole weapon and AO. The new combo script will run the animations smooth even in laggier sims, while a combat, raid or any other fighting activities. The AO can run without the weapon being activated.

*For the gorean meters (GM/GLM/BCS) type:

/99 gorean_up (enables damage with gorean meters)
/99 gorean_down (disables damage with gorean meters)


==USING THE WEAPON==

1) WEAPONS HUD

This weapon is crafted and scripted to work with the H&S MetalWorks ltd. weapons HUD. To activate (draw/sheath) your sword follow the next steps:

- Wear the H&S HUD (don't attach it to any other part, because the HUD wont work)
- Touch the (+) to activate the command line

~DRAWING THE WEAPON~
- Choose 'Weapon' to activate the weapons submenu
- On the submenu choose: 'Sword' to open another submenu
- Choose 'Single' to draw your weapon

~SHEATHING THE WEAPON~
- Choose 'Weapon' to activate the weapons submenu
- On the submenu choose: 'Put Away' to sheath your weapon

2) CHAT COMMANDS

You can also use these chat commands in case you don't prefer using HUDs

Commands: the ~SARACEN~ works with this basic commands in channel /99:

/99 sword single (to draw the weapon)
/99 put away (to sheath the weapon)

3) GESTURES

You can also use GESTURES added to the weapon box (Shift + F8 (draw) - Shift + F9 (sheath)). Remember to deactivate existing gestures before using them if you want to achieve the desired effect (to draw/sheath your weapon)


==HANDLING THE WEAPON==

Hold your left mouse button all the time pressing this combinations to cause normal moves:

1) COLOR

With the H&S HUD you can change the color on different parts of the weapon. Open the HUD by touching the (+), choose Color from the command line. You get a color palete with 5 basic colors in 4 different collums. Each colum (1,2,3,4) changes the color of a specific sword part. Play with it to achieve your desired color.
